The MicroPlastLess project aims:

  • raise awareness of the growing problem of microplastics and their impact on ecosystems.

  • build teachers' confidence and provide them with the tools they need to teach about microplastics using innovative educational approaches.

  • empower students to explore practical solutions and adopt sustainable habits to reduce microplastic pollution as part of their environmental education.

  • achieve a positive multiplier effect through the use of game-based learning.

Engaging schools and communities in the fight against microplastics through innovative educational approaches

The project will develop:

• A report identifying gaps in knowledge and awareness of microplastic pollution in water, soil, and air.

• A Teacher Training Program to equip educators with innovative methods for teaching about microplastics.

• A Coursework with engaging learning resources and activities on environmental activism and intergenerational learning.

• A collection of 5 board games designed to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and sustainability awareness in students.

The MicroPlastLess project will enrich national education frameworks with innovative strategies for teaching about microplastics and environmental sustainability. By integrating environmental activism, intergenerational learning, and game-based learning, it will engage students and teachers in meaningful action. Ultimately, the project will inspire the school community to adopt sustainable habits and take an active role in protecting the environment.
